Repair procedures

Removal and Installation

1.	Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

2.	Remove the engine cover. (Refer to Engine And Transaxle Assmbly - "Engine Cover")

3.	Remove the air duct and air cleaner assembly. (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Air Cleaner")

Remove the engine wire harness connectors and wire harness clamps from the intake manifold.

(1)	Feul injector connector (A).

(2)	Disconnect the oil control valve(OCV) connector (A) and alternator connector (B).

(3)	Disconnect the air conditioning compressor connector (C).

(4)	Remove the ignition coil harness mounting bolts(D).

(5)	Disconnect the MAP sensor connector (F) and the knock sensor bracket (E).

(6)	Disconnect the ETC (Electronic throttle control) connector (A)

(7)	Disconnect the vacuum hose (A) and the throttle body coolant hoses (B).

Remove the engine wire harness connectors and wire harness clamps from cylinder head and the intake manifold.

Tightening torque :

18.6 ~ 23.5 N.m (1.9 ~ 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 ~ 17.4 lb-ft)

•	When installing, replace with new gaskets.

•	When installing the intake manifold, tighten the Bolts & nuts with pre-torque first and then tighten the Bolts & nuts with specified torque in the sequence shown.

6.	Remove the intake manifold assembly (A).

7.	Install in the reverse order of removal.
