Repair procedures

Removal
1.
Move the shift lever to 4th gear.
2.
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air Cleaner")
3.
Remove the battery and battery tray.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")
4.
Remove the ECM.
(Refer to Engine Control System - "ECM")
5.
Disconnect the shift cable (A) and select cable (B) after removing the snap pin (C).

6.
Remove the shift lever knob & boots (A) after turning in the counter clock-wise direction.

7.
Remove the floor console assembly.
(Refer to Body - "Floor Console")
8.
Remove the air duct (A).

9.
Disconnect the shift cable (B) and select cable (C) after removing the snap pin (A).

10.
Remove the retainer (A) after loosen the nut (B).
11.
Remove the cable assembly from the vehicle.

Installation

Place the shift lever and transaxle side lever in 4th shift position and insert the lever fixing pin (A).

1.
Install the retainer (A) and then tighten nut (B).
Tightening torque :
9.8 ~ 14.7 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.5 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 10.8 lb-ft)

2.
Install the shift cable (B) and select cable (C) and then fixing the snap pin (A).

3.
Move the locker (B) in the direction of "F" with pulling the holder (A) in the direction of "P".

4.
Install the shift cable (A) and select cable (B), and then fixing the snap pin (C).

5.
Tighten the holder (A) to the "P" directions after fixing the rockers (B) in the "F" direction.

6.
Remove the shift lever 4th fixed pin (A).

7.
Install the air duct (A).

8.
Install the floor console assembly.
(Refer to Body - "Floor Console")
9.
Install the shift lever knob & boots (A).

10.
Install the battery and battery tray.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")
11.
Install the ECM.
(Refer to Engine Control System - "ECM")
12.
Install the air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air cleaner")

Check operating of lever of transaxle side when operating shift lever after assembly. (1~6,R)
