| Removal |
The parking brake cables must not be bent or distorted. This will lead
to stiff operation and premature failure.

Release the parking brake lever and parking brake cable is loose.
|
| 2. |
Remove the floor console.
(Refer to Body - "Floor Console")
|
| 3. |
Loosen the adjusting nut (A) and remove the parking brake cables from
the equalizer assembly.
|
| 4. |
Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it
is securely supported.

Remove the rear wheel & tire (A).
|
| 6. |
Loosen the screw and then remove the drum.
|
| 7. |
Remove the upper shoe return spring (A), lower shoe return spring (B),
level pawl (C) and djuster assembly (D).

Remove the shoe hold assembly (A) and then remove the brake shoe.
|
| 9. |
Disconnect the parking cable.
|
| 10. |
Loosen the parking brake cable bracket bolts and remove the parking
brake cable.

| Installation |
| 1. |
Install the parking brake cable.
|
| 2. |
Install the parking cable.
|
| 3. |
Fix the brake shoe by installing the shoe hold assembly (A).
|
| 4. |
Install the upper shoe return spring (A), lower shoe return spring (B),
level pawl (C) and djuster assembly (D).

| 5. |
Install the drum by tighten the screw.
|
| 6. |
Install the rear wheel & tire (A).
|
| 7. |
Loosen the adjusting nut (A) and remove the parking brake cables from
the equalizer assembly.

Install the floor console.
(Refer to Body - "Floor Console")

| Parking Brake Lever Stroke Adjustment |
| 1. |
Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
|
| 2. |
Remove the floor console pad.
|
| 3. |
Adjust the parking brake lever stroke by turning adjusting nut (A).
|
| 4. |
Release the parking brake lever fully, and check that parking brakes
do not drag when the rear wheels are turned. Readjust if necessary.
|
| 5. |
Make sure that the parking brakes are fully applied when the parking
brake lever is pulled up fully.
|

Install the floor console.
